Responsible Person service
Your EU and UK Responsible Person. Sorted.
If you sell into the EU or UK from outside it, the law says someone there has to take responsibility for your products. We do that job properly, for a fixed monthly fee, or pay annually and get two months free.
What the law actually says
Under the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), in force since 13 December 2024, a product can only be placed on the EU market if an economic operator established in the EU is responsible for it: a manufacturer, importer, authorised representative or fulfilment service provider.
Their name, postal address and electronic contact must appear on the product, packaging or accompanying document, and on your online listings. Amazon enforces this and suppresses listings that are missing it.
In Great Britain, many product types need a UK-based manufacturer, importer or authorised representative too, and the UK is reforming its product safety rules, with more duties for online marketplaces.
Selling cosmetics? Our guide explains who can be the cosmetics responsible person in GB and Northern Ireland.

Straight answers
Do I need a Responsible Person if I sell on Amazon?
If you sell into the EU and your business is not established there, yes. Amazon asks for Responsible Person details on EU listings and can suppress listings without them. Based in Great Britain and starting to ship to Northern Ireland or the EU? See our guide to GPSR for GB small businesses.
Is a Responsible Person the same as an importer?
Not necessarily. The GPSR accepts a manufacturer, importer, authorised representative or fulfilment service provider established in the EU. If you don’t have one of those, an authorised representative like us fills the gap.
What do you need from me?
Your product details, Declaration of Conformity, risk assessment and any test reports. No documents yet? Template packs are included, and we tell you exactly what’s missing.
Will you take on any product?
No. We review your technical file first. If a product needs testing or a notified body certificate you don’t have, we tell you before you pay anything.
